지피코리아(GP KOREA)는 21일부터 사흘간 고양시 킨텍스에서 개최하는 금속산업대전(KOREA METAL WEEK) 2022에 참가해 알루미늄, 티타늄, 세라믹 등의 소재로 제작한 가공부품과 금속 케이스 등을 전시했다.

이 회사는 동관지에스정밀의 한국지사로 서스(SUS, 스테인리스 스틸) 300계열, 티타늄, 리퀴드메탈 소재 개발, 정밀가공 사업에 주력하고 있다.

전시제품 중 오디오케이스에 대해 지피코리아 부품사업팀 김세환 부장은 "디지털 오디오 플레이어 등 고품질 음원을 선호하는 사용자들을 대상으로 제품을 제작하는 기업들이 고객으로, 요구하는 제품에 대해 맞춤형으로 제작할 수 있는 설계 및 제조 기술력을 갖추고 있다"라고 소개했다.

또한 "기존에는 알루미늄 등 가벼운 소재에 대한 수요가 높았다면, 최근에는 서스 소재의 제품에 대한 수요가 증가하는 추세라고 했다.

제품의 외관을 완성하는 소재와 가공

설계 의도를 실물 부품으로 구현하다

DAP의 외관은 내부 부품을 보호하는 구조인 동시에 사용자가 직접 보고 만지는 제품의 표면입니다. GPN은 수요기업의 설계를 바탕으로 케이스 제작에 대응하며, 소재에 따라 달라지는 가공성과 외관 특성을 함께 고려합니다. 금속산업대전에서는 이러한 제조 분야를 실제 가공 부품으로 제시했습니다.

소재 선택에 대응하는 제조 경험

알루미늄에서 스테인리스와 티타늄에 이르기까지, 외관 소재가 달라지면 공정과 마감의 조건도 달라집니다. 전시에서 소개한 부품들은 단일 소재의 가공에 머물지 않는 GPN의 사업 영역을 보여 줍니다. 소재의 특성과 제품의 용도를 함께 검토하는 일은 외관 부품 제조의 출발점입니다.

GPN presents precision components at Korea Metal Week 2022

GPN exhibited at Korea Metal Week 2022, held at KINTEX from 21 to 23 September. The company presented components machined from aluminum, titanium and ceramic, alongside metal cases.

The report described GP Korea as the Korean branch of Dongguan GS and outlined its work with SUS 300-series stainless steel, titanium, liquid metal and other materials. Its business includes precision exterior components for high-resolution digital audio players.

Kim Se-hwan, head of the components division, explained that the company manufactures cases according to customer designs. He also noted a shift in customer demand from aluminum toward stainless steel for these products.

Translating product design into physical components

A DAP enclosure combines structural requirements with surfaces that users see and touch. GPN’s exhibits presented this manufacturing work through actual parts, linking material selection with machining and exterior quality.

Responding to different materials

Changes in enclosure materials bring changes in machining and finishing requirements. The exhibition brought together examples of GPN’s component work across several materials and product applications.
